About Us
Our names are Dustin and Lisa McCreery, we came to Chatfield’s in 2001. We were mentored by Lisa’s parents, Dennis and Jos Chatfield. This gave us a broad range of experiences in all facets of propagating seedlings, engineering and running a successful business.
We purchased Chatfield’s in October 2008 and proudly continue the Chatfield name and family business. We have expanded to a 3 million capacity tree nursery and engineering department, employing 20+ staff seasonally, mostly locals!!!
Steele Anderson, our operations manager, has been learning the ropes for the last few years. He is now full bottle with our day to day, month to month and year to year processes – so brilliant to have him as an integral part of our team. He is how we can get away now and again!! He works so well with Dustin – and understands the systems we have in place, what advice we give and reasons we do things! A sheet metal fabricator by trade – so very handy in the engineering department too!! He is amazing with people an absolute asset to Chatfield’s
Naomi Netherway, Shantelle Kyle, Jillian Freind and Tayla Currell are our nursery supervisors – who pretty much run the nursery day to day show – except for when I come in a change things! (how annoying!!) They do all the staff training, organisation, seeding, inventory and ensure all the trees are kept up to the best quality we can produce!
Anja Walker is our office extraordinaire – she does everything office related and keeps me up to date. She is all the staff favourite as she is the payroll officer (and makes a mean chocolate brownie!) but mainly my right hand office co-ordinator!!

If you are in business you know that the hardest thing to find is a good staff.
Well, we have clearly the best staff anyone could ask for. You could not find a group of diverse people that all get along so well, are so passionate about everything they do, willing to help in any way possible to better our business, have such pride in our service and product and are so protective of Chatfield’s reputation and ability to provide for each and every customer.
We cannot speak highly enough of them. And truly believe that they are not just employees but a sacred part of our family.

Chatfield’s employ up to 12 staff in the nursery per day. We used to be seasonal but due to expanding some of our lines, it is turning into most of the year!
We do –
- Cuttings from August – December
- Seeding from October – January
- Thinning from January – March
- Grading from April – June
- Packing orders from May – August!
We currently have 4 supervisors who work together to run the day to day of the nursery and teach new staff and ensure the quality of our products.
For the last few years we have employed mostly local staff from Tammin, Cunderdin, Kellerberrin, and even Dowerin! And a few seasonal staff that come while partners are assisting farmers with seeding or harvest. We also employ backpackers and have accommodation on site so it feels like we travel the world without even leaving home.
